Brazilian full-back Adriano Correia was unable to join his Barça team mates for Monday's training session. The player is struggling to return to full fitness and spent the morning training inside the gym.

Five first team players were unable to attend the session for other reasons - Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Piqué and Alves are in Zurich where they will take part in this evening's FIFA Ballon d'Or gala.

Tito Vilanova took the available players through a relaxed session. Those who were involved in Sunday's 4-0 win over Espanyol wound down with light recovery programme while the substitutes trained at a brisker pace.

The Azulgranas' next engagement is Thursday's Copa del Rey tie against Córdoba. Vilanova's side will be aiming to capitalize on the 2-0 advantage they gained in the first leg to book their place in the quarter-finals.
