The English press has reiterated Arsene Wenger's interest in signing David Villa.
Despite the fact that Barcelona have insisted that 'El Guaje' will not leave this month, news keeps on appearing about a possible move, with Arsenal the club that has been mentioned the most.
The fact that Villa rarely starts a game for Barcelona and is 31 years old are two factors which have lead the press to believe he wants to leave the Camp Nou. Villa wants to play as much as possible so that Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque will keep calling him up for international duty, and so that he can make the most of his final few years as a footballer.
'The Sun' has reported that Arsene Wenger is willing to offer Barça around 10 million pounds (nearly 12 million euros) for the forward and put the pressure on the club to sell him just days before the transfer window closes on January 31. It could be the last time the club has to cash in on Villa, who barely features in Tito Vilanova's plans.
