Atlético de Madrid are thinking of rebelling and refusing to play their league game scheduled for Monday 27 August against Athletic de Bilbao. The game is meant to kick-off at 10pm, finishing practically on Tuesday. On the Friday of that week the team will be in Monaco for the Super Cup final against Chelsea. The London team, for their part, have their League game scheduled for Saturday at mid-day, giving them nearly three days more rest than their rivals. Atleti are becoming more indignant every day, and this is leading the club to think of taking drastic measures

Club President Enrique Cerezo spoke to Radio Marca and didn't hide his annoyance: "I don't understand how it is possible that they have done this. Only a few teams are prejudiced, and they are precisely those clubs that don't have a good relationship with the TV company". He also insinuated the possibility of a strike: "The clubs will take the measures we need to take. They aren't treating the clubs equally. If we were all in the same situation there wouldn't be a problem but Real Madrid and Barça do what they want". "Whoever came up with this timetable for the first three games needs to go", he rapped. He then turned to José Luis Astiazarán, current president of the League, "If he came up with this timetable he needs to resign. And if he didn't he should resign anyway".
