Barcelona have made it clear that they will not allow any player to leave in the January transfer window, but there may be one exception: Isaac Cuenca.
The winger is on the verge of receiving the medical all-clear after undergoing surgery on his knee in the summer.
However, the 21-year-old will naturally find it difficult to win a place in the Barcelona starting line-up in the near future, with Leo Messi, Pedro, Cristian Tello, Alexis Sánchez and David Villa all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Valencia have been keeping an eye on his availability and if he were to go anywhere in January it would be to the Mestalla.
The excellent relations between Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and Valencia coach Ernesto Valverde mean the deal could be easier to pull off than first thought. Furthermore, Barcelona's directors believe that 'Los Ché' could provide Cuenca with the games Tito Vilanova or Jordi Roura would not be able to guarantee him, for obvious reasons.
The move would mean the youngster would not miss an entire season, and could recover his form and fitness in the next five months and return to Barcelona next summer ready to fight for a place in the team again.
Monitor finances, choose your signings wisely, select the best strategy, and face off friends to become the best manager in the world.
