and meet Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque and mastermind of 'La Roja's successful World Cup and Euro 2012 campaigns.

According to The Daily Mirror, a close friend of Rodgers said: "I'm sure Brendan will accept the invitation because he loves to discuss and debate football, especially with people who have a lot of experience in the game."

Rodgers would no doubt benefit from a bit of advice from Del Bosque, who has won two Champions Leagues, a World Cup and now the European Championships.

Rodgers was invited to watch one of Spain's training sessions in Austria before the start of Euro 2012 but was unable to attend.

Now the tournament is over, Del Bosque has kept to his promise and once again has invited the 39-year-old to debate the finer points of the game with him.

The Northern Irish coach has a good understanding of Spanish and met Del Bosque when the Salamancan was in charge of Real Madrid.

The Mirror also reported that Rodgers is tabling a move to sign Fulham star Clint Dempsey, after losing out to Tottenham in the race to sign ex-Swansea player Gylfi Sigurdsson.
