Iker Casillas will undergo an operation on the first metacarpal bone in his left hand on Friday afternoon at the Beata María hospital in Madrid.
Casillas is having the operation in order to reduce his fracture and it is expected that he will spend the night in the hospital.
In the early hours of the morning after getting injured at the Mestalla, Casillas drove himself to a private clinic in Madrid, where he received magnetic resonance to learn the extent of the injury.
On Thursday he underwent pre-operative treatment, and received calls from a number of footballers, including Barcelona players, to find out how he was.
The Real Madrid captain, who injured his hand when Álvaro Arbeloa accidentally kicked him in the first half of Madrid's 1-1 draw with Valencia on Wednesday, will be out of action for around two months and Madrid are now scouring the market for a short-term replacement, with Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio César topping the bill.
