Cesc Fábregas was in a disgruntled mood after Barcelona drew 1-1 with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final and rued the chances his team missed, declaring after the game that "the scoreline could have been very different".
Fàbregas gave Barça the lead early in the second half but Raphael Varane equalised for the hosts late on, converting a header from a Mesut Özil cross.
The Barça player did not want to discuss which team was the favourite to qualify for the final, and simply remarked: "Anything can happen in a derby."
"We are playing well at the moment and how they are playing is their business. We've got a good result with us to take into the return leg at home. Now we have to focus on the league again."
Fàbregas recognised that Barça had not been at the best at the start but was happy with how they improved later on.
He admitted: "In the first few minutes of the game we were a bit distant with the ball and we weren't participating very much in the game, but then we got into it and did well.
"I don't know if Madrid have improved or not, they are always motivated when they play against us," he added.
