Pepe has been left out of the Real Madrid side to face Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Raphael Varane will partner Sergio Ramos at centre-back, while Álvaro Arbeloa will play at right-back.
Kaká, who has staked a claim for a place in the side in recent weeks, has not been included in the starting 11.
There are no surprises in the Barcelona line-up, wth Jordi Roura picking a full-strength side, with the exception of Jose Manuel Pinto, who is always chosen ahead of first-choice goalkeeper Victor Valdes for Copa del Rey matches.
Alexis Sánchez has been left out of the Barcelona squad, while David Villa has been left on the bench.
Barcelona XI: Pinto, Alves, Piqué, Puyol, Alba, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Cesc, Pedro, Messi, Iniesta.
