While Magath and Wolfsburg claim Diego's future is in the Bundesliga, the player himself seems to think otherwise. The player, who employs someone full-time in Brazil to run his website and social networks, has been seen sporting the Atlético shirt on Diego10.com.br. for the past few days - interesting, considering his time as an Atlético was supposed to have come to an end 56 days ago (30 June).
The website, which is being revamped for the season, features two photos of the player wearing the Atlético Madrid shirt and direct access to his Facebook and Twitter pages. The fact that the club badge and nike logo appear to be backwards would suggest that it is a hoax, but the fact that the site hasn't changed and Diego has said nothing on the matter would seem to throw that idea out of the window.
The player, a favourite among the fans who want to see him stay, remains Wolfsburg property so this outward gesture could either be hint of what will happen over the next few days or a lack of respect towards the German club.
Meanwhile Magath is still determined to sign Beñat from Betis despite reports to the contrary from the Andalusian club. If he's able to sign the Basque player, who plays in a deeper midfield position than Diego, the trainer would be able to change his system, getting rid of the playmaker and in the process relying less on the Brazilian.
Atleti are still working on shipping out players to balance the books and could consider making an offer fro Diego - the club would ask Wolfsburg for a loan deal with the option to buy in 2013.
Monitor finances, choose your signings wisely, select the best strategy, and face off friends to become the best manager in the world.
