Sir Alex Ferguson paid a visit to Real Madrid at The Lowry hotel in Manchester ahead of their fifth group D encounter in the Champions League against Manchester City this evening.

The Scot chatted to Madrid's president Florentino Pérez and later greeted the squad and José Mourinho in a special meeting between two of the only five coaches to have overseen 100 matches in the biggest European competition (the Portuguese will reach that landmark figure with tonight's game.)
