Ferrari are taking steps to investigate the alleged malpractice of Sebastian Vettel in the Brazilian Grand Prix, and have requested that the FIA clarify whether the German was breaking race regulations when he overtook Jean-Éric Vergne on the fourth turn of the Interlagos circuit while yellow flags were visible.
This is not a formal complaint, but if the team decides to launch a complaint, they must do so before 30 November.
Staff at Ferrari HQ in Maranello are studying all available footage of the incident before lodging an official complaint, according to Luca Colajanni, head of communications for the team.
Fernando Alonso, meanwhile, has emphasised that he supports seeking sporting justice to clarify what happened.
Now the FIA has to respond to Ferrari's request as quickly as possible, so the team can make a decision before the deadline.
Meanwhile, motorsport website 'Autosport' has reported that a source from the FIA revealed that Vettel's actions were completely legal and there were no grounds for a case from Ferrari. However, the FIA has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
