One of Cristiano Ronaldo's principal complaints is that Real Madrid do not give him enough backing in his campaign to win the Ballon d'Or.
The latest issue of the FIFA magazine shows that Ronaldo may have a point about the little support he receives. The Madrid and Portugal forward's name barely appears in the 68-page magazine, while Leo Messi is omnipresent.
Cristiano does not appear until page 17, with his name buried within the list of the 23 candidates for the Ballon d'Or, while there is also a small photo of him with the Portugal team on page 68, covered by Raul Meireles and Valera.
On the contrary, Messi appears all over the magazine, with seven mentions and three photos. FIFA dedicate page 7 to a photo of his statue at Madame Tussauds, with the title "The return of the star?" while on page 14, a feature about the recent World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Uruguay, the magazine calls him "the phenomenal Lionel Messi" and on page 16, a report on the Ballon d'Or shows a picture of Messi holding the award, and the Argentine is mentioned a further two times in the same article. He is praised by FIFA president Sepp Blatter on page 27, is mentioned in an article about the World Club Cup on page 38, and is the subject of the final page, an advert showing Messi taking a shot at goal.

This should not be surprised, Messi is only 1, but Ronaldo is maybe the best from the group of very good players.
