As he continues to spread his commercial vision for the club across the globe, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has met with executives of the Evergrande Real Estate Group, owners of the Chinese club Guangzhou. Madrid have a partnership with the Chinese Super League club, through which the two outfits will cooperate closely and work to promote football in China.
During the meeting, there was an exchange of gifts between the Madrid president and the chairman of the Evergrande Real Estate Group, Xu Jiayin. Pérez presented his Chinese counterpart with a silver replica of the goddess Cibeles, as well as a Real Madrid shirt with the number nine (a lucky number in China).
Madrid have already opened a football school in Guangzhou. The biggest in the world, more than a thousand Chinese children are now pupils at the institution.
