Inter Milan are one team bent on making signings in the winter transfer window. Their coach Andrea Stramaccioni is in no doubt about the type of player he's after: a creative midfielder who can also offer something in defence. And one man who fits the bill perfectly is Nuri Sahin.
The Turkish player who belongs to Real Madrid is currently on loan at Liverpool, where he's still adapting to life in the Premier League and in the fiercely competitive ranks of the Reds. Although he made a strong start, the rising profile of Suso and the presence of other players more to Brendan Rogers' liking, like Henderson, Shelvey and Lucas Leiva (Allen and Gerrard are undisputed starters) has meant he's been spending more time on the bench than he would have liked.
Sahin has only played 448 minutes in the Premier League, spread over 7 matches. He wasn't called up for the last two matches (he'll return today against Sunderland) and before that he was a substitute for five matches back-to-back, not getting a minute. Injuries, which plagued his time at Real Madrid haven't helped either and Liverpool wouldn't put up too much resistance to letting him go, says 'Sport Mediaset'.
Stramaccioni believes that Italian football would suit a player like Sahin much better, as it is less frenetic than the Premier League. He's also considering the possibility of Wesley Sneijner being a part of the deal. The Dutchman has been more outside than inside at Inter of late.
Monitor finances, choose your signings wisely, select the best strategy, and face off friends to become the best manager in the world.
