Barcelona assistant coach Jordi Roura attended to the media the day before the club's Copa del Rey quarter final second leg match against Málaga at La Rosaleda on Thursday.

Roura will take charge of the team for the game because Tito Vilanova is in New York visiting doctors.

The assistant coach will put out an almost full-strength team to face Manuel Pellegrini's side, and believes they have a good chance of winning the tie.

The first leg in the Camp Nou ended 2-2, meaning Barça have to win the game or draw by scoring at least three goals in order to reach the semi-finals.

Roura praised Málaga but avoided entering into a discussion about a possible semi-final clash with Real Madrid.

The team's mentality: "This is the first must-win game of the season for us this year and we will be well aware of that when we travel there. We all know how important this clash is and we'll play with the intensity that a game of this occasion deserves. The players are always excited about playing and they all know how important it is to have the right attitude. I don't think that I'll have to give them a special team talk. I have no doubt that we'll give everything in order to go through."

"There are many conditions that will decide what team we put out. We've had a lot of days to recover (from the Real Sociedad game last Saturday), we'll have to see what team we go for, all the options are open."

Differences from first leg: "Every competition has its own characteristics. It's going to be a very difficult game. They have many things in their favour, like the score from the first leg and the fact the game is at their place and they'll be a great atmosphere."

Quality of the pitch: "It's no secret that a perfect pitch benefits us. I hope the pitch will be in good condition, it'll help them too."

The team's disappointing results (2-2 draw with Málaga, 2-3 defeat to Real Sociedad): "You can't blame the team for the bad results. The team played well on both games. The first half in San Sebastian was first class, as it was against Málaga (in the Copa). Then both games became difficult for us. The game has not come at a bad time for us."

Possible Clásico in the semi-finals: "I won't say anything about that, the only team we are playing for now is Málaga."

Is there too much focus on results? "Perhaps, but people will always look at results. But then you have to look at everything the players have done in all the other games. I'm sure we'll react well."

How will Málaga approach the game? "It's difficult to know. They are not a team that will go out and defend, they will go for us, but I don't know how Pellegrini is going to plan for the match (which players he's going to pick). They've had the same amount of days to rest as us and it's a huge game for them too, the chance to get to the semi-finals. Isco and Toulalan didn't play in the Camp Nou and they still got a good result, their second string players will be very strong, without a doubt."

What happens if you get knocked out? "It's possible that we could get knocked out, but many things could happen. Right now, looking at how the players are doing and the effort they are putting in, I think we'll qualify, but this is football, and anything can happen."

Villa: "We already know everything about David. He's had really bad luck with his injuries and it's interrupted his rhythm. He'll know if he starts or not when we take the decision. He's always been an important player for us."
