Jordi Roura recorded a victory in his first game in temporary charge of Barcelona while head coach Tito Vilanova recovers from an operation to treat his cancer.
Goals from Xavi Hernández, Leo Messi and Cristian Tello gave Roura's side the three points away to Valladolid, and in his post-match press conference, the assistant coach revealed that the team knew that Vilanova had left hospital before they took to the pitch.
What did you make of the game?
It was a very special game emotionally after everything that has happened this week but from a footballing perspective it was the same as always. We had the better of the game in the first half, Valladolid had the odd chance but we got it together towards the end of the first half and could have scored more goals in the second.
How did the team react to the news that Tito had left hospital?
We were all in the dressing room when we found out and the team were very happy to hear the news.
How do you prepare for a game in these circumstances?
It's very difficult to get everyone in the right mood, it's been a tough past few days. At first it seemed hard to gain encouragement but now the situation's improved and there's a lot of optimism. In a sporting sense we all became more relaxed once we knew Tito was getting better.
Did you consult Tito before the game?
We had a plan already and we didn't change anything in this game, we already knew who would start. We have spoken, but not about the game.
Can the team go on holiday satisfied?
We couldn't be more satisfied with how the season has gone. We've won 16 games and drawn just one. From a sporting point of view the year has finished well and we can take our holidays feeling very happy.
