An exhaustive study of the salaries of professional football coaches has revealed that José Mourinho is the best paid coach in the world.
The Real Madrid boss, who earns 15.3 million euros per year, is top of a list of the 30 highest coaches, compiled by the consultancy firm Curitiba.
Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti is the second highest earner, but earns more than Mourinho after tax has been deducted.
Marcelo Lippi, who earns 10 million euros as manager of Guangzhou in China, is the highest earning coach working outside Europe.
Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova is the highest earning Spaniard on the list, followed by Juan Antonio Camacho, who coaches the Chinese national side. Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque, surprisingly, is not among the top 30.
Of the 30 coaches on the list, 22 manage clubs and eight manage national teams. Italy boasts the greatest number of coaches on the list, while more coaches on the list work in the Premier League than any other league.
