Kaká has told of his excitement at being recalled to the Brazil squad, calling it "a new start at the age of 30" and declared he was now going to give everything to make it to the World Cup in Brazil.
He told Brazilian newspaper Globoesporte: "I'm returning after two years and it's crucial that I recover my place in the team, that I get to go back on the pitch and start playing again. It's a new start, a new start at the age of 30. After having won almost everything, now I have a new opportunity. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to the maximum and take advantage of the time I get on the pitch, I'm going to do everything I can to get to the World Cup."
Kaká said it was still "too early to talk about the Confederations Cup", which takes place in Brazil next year, but did say he expects to play in a more advanced role for Brazil than he is used to with Real Madrid. "Milan and Madrid play different formations. When I was playing for Milan, we played 4-3-1-2 and I was the number one, playing behind the two strikers. For Madrid I play in a midfield three. I have more of a defensive obligation in that role, but I always play near the penalty area."
Kaká admitted he had been taken by surprise at his inclusion in Mano Meneses's squad, as he has not spoken to the Brazil coach since last April. "I followed it on television because some people had speculated that I might be included in the squad. I was overjoyed when I found out, it felt like my first ever call up."
