Real Madrid assistant coach Aitor Karanka took over press duties from José Mourinho ahead of Real Madrid's trip to Real Valladolid on Saturday, and declared that the club may buy and sell players in the January transfer window.
Karanka and Mourinho's future: "I will decide my future when the coach decides what his future is. My future, now, is right here. The only person who knows what'll happen is the coach and we are fed up of saying it, we don't give any consideration to the rumours. I have spent two and a half years with Mourinho and if we paid attention to all of these rumours it would be a disservice to him. He shows his strength on the pitch and in the office, which is the way it should be."
Movements in January: "We have a fine squad but I can't say 100% that there'll be no movements. We have the squad we wanted at the beginning of the season and the squad we want for the end of the season. But you can never say anything with 100% conviction because it's not entirely within our hands."
Valladolid: "They have just come up and they're having a good season and playing good football. But we can't contemplate anything else apart from winning."
Possible opponents in the Champions League: "The boss has already said that we're not going to dwell on the fact we came second. Every team in the last 16 will be difficult opponents."
Which full-back will replace injured Coentrao: "We are mulling over a number of options."
Florentino allegedly telling 'A Bola' that Mourinho will stay until 2016: "If that's what the president said then it's no rumour, the boss has said his relationship with Florentino is good. But this just goes to show that all this talk about him leaving is based on rumours."
Messi's injury: "It looked as though it could have been serious but now it isn't serious and he could play this weekend."
PSG and Carlo Ancelotti's comments that he would like to coach Madrid: "I think they are rumours. Any coach would like to manage Real Madrid, but the PSG owners have already said that there is no truth in them wanting to hire Mourinho."
