Sergio Ramos spoke to Audi today, at the German car manufacturer's presentation of the Real Madrid team's official cars. The second captain thanked the club's fans for their unwavering supports and was optimistic about the future. "The support of your people at the opportune moment is important. The effort and the support of the fans is never forgotten. I keep dreaming, and being optimistic about everything and I want to keep winning titles."
What makes football such a special sport?
The repercussions it has on a global level. That makes us feel privileged in life because it makes us different from other people.
What was your dream when you were younger?
It's always important to have ambitions. I always said I wanted to be a bull-fighter or a footballer and my mum, who was a little cautious, steered me towards football because it was the least dangerous. The dream of achieving something tomorrow should never be lost.
Are you aware of what you're achieving with your club as well as your country?
If there's one thing about football it's that it's fast and it doesn't give you time to enjoy moments. You're aware of what's happening and what you're working towards, but the day of tomorrow is when we'll realise what we've won. The future will show the return for all this time working and sacrificing yourself.
What makes Real Madrid unique?
The club's identity throughout its history. It's the best club in the world and, although some won't like to hear that, it's the reality. The players that have come through here and the titles have given prestige to this club.
What's been your favourite match as a player?
I've had some really good experiences, but I remember the Liga we won with Capello with particular emotions, because there was such a small gap between us and Barcelona and there was a lot of tension until the end. Just remembering it I get emotional again.
What do you feel when you score a goal?
Satisfaction, happiness and a reward for the collective work of the team. In this sport, although individuals stand out, it's the collective that wins prizes. You feel satisfied for your teammates.
Monitor finances, choose your signings wisely, select the best strategy, and face off friends to become the best manager in the world.
