There are sections of Real Madrid supporters who are alarmed by the commotion caused by José Mourinho's disparaging comments about the Real Madrid academy and against Castilla coach Alberto Toril.
One of these is the Association for Madrid Values, which has released a statement condemning the fallout.
The Association's president, Carlos Mendoza, told AS: "The club's image is being tarnished by this whole issue. The club should not be airing its dirty laundry in public, are there not offices at the training ground to discuss matters like this? By reading out a list of names of Madrid academy players who did not make the grade, Mourinho ridiculed those players, speaking about them as if they were rubbish.
"Jorge Valdano [former director of football] left the club because it was dysfunctional, and now it is clear that the current organisation is not working as well as we thought."
The organisation's statement read:
"The Assocation for Real Madrid Values wants to express its displeasure at the conflict between Madrid and its academy. A club of Madrid's standing should not be making public declarations about the internal organisation of the club, which only goes to spoil its image and undermine the good work it does. The club needs to continue to be a reference point around the world as a sporting and social institution. The Association was formed in 2010 with the aim of preserving the values that made Madrid the best club of the 20th century."
