Málaga coach Manuel Pellegrini received an offer to become the new manager of Serie A side Roma two weeks ago, according to the Chilean's agent.

Jesús Martínez, Pellegrini's agent and friend, told Chilean newspaper 'El Mercurio: "We received a former offer from Roma, but we rejected it outright. That was two weeks ago and we ruled it out because it was in the middle of the season.

"Manuel has an existing contract with Málaga, and I think in April or May we will know what will happen with regards to his future. If the sporting project changes we will have to take a decision. Our aim is to respect our current commitment, but it also depends on what the conditions are."

Martínez, however, did not stop there, and also revealed that other big names are interested in hiring his client, among them last year's Champions League winners Chelsea.

"Chelsea and other clubs have made enquiries via intermediaries, but there's been no official approach," he added.

"Manuel would love to manage in the Premier League, as he would love to coach in Germany, Italy and other important leagues. There is still time to analyse what we'll do for next season."

Pellegrini is under contract with Málaga until June 2015. He has always said his intention is to see out the remaining years of his commitment to the club, and recently declared: "My future is tied to this club's project."
