March Clásico will not be moved forward

According to RAC1, the LFP has rejected Real Madrid's proposal to stage the league meeting with Barcelona on Friday 1st March to tie in with their European commitments.

According to RAC1, the league meeting between Real Madrid and Barcelona which corresponds to Week 26 of the competition will not be played on Friday 1^st of March. Real Madrid had requested for the match to be brought forward so that they could have an extra day's rest ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 knockout tie against Manchester United which will be played at Old Trafford on March 5^th.

The Spanish Professional Football League is believed to have rejected Real Madrid's proposal to stage the Clásico one day earlier and the game will take place on either the Saturday 2^nd or Sunday 3^rd of March.
