Leo Messi hit the gym today at the Barcelona training centre looking to maximise his chances of playing this Sunday against Betis. The Argentinean is keen to play despite injuring his left knee when he clashed with Artur, Benfica's goalkeeper, last Wednesday in the last Champions League group match. The player, the medical staff at the club and the coaching team will take the decision tomorrow as to whether he is fit enough to play in Seville.

Although the Barcelona squad had the day off Iniesta, Dani Alves, Alexis and Bartra were also at the training ground today. Titio Vilanova, the Barcelona coach, will announce the squad to travel to the Andalusian capital tomorrow.
