Mesut Özil has joined Real Madrid's long list of injured players and will not take any part in Germany's friendly with Holland this Wednesday in Amsterdam.

Medical tests carried out today confirmed that the midfielder has an ankle injury and the German Football Federation have decided to leave him out of the trip to Holland.

Özil picked up the injury during Sunday's game against Levante, and was substituted in the 82^nd minute, replaced by Álvaro Morata, who went on to score the winning goal.

The German joins Cristiano Ronaldo, who was elbowed in the face in the same game and has been left out of Portugal's squad for their game against Gabon, and full-back Marcelo, who broke his metatarsal while on international duty with Brazil last month.
