Manchester City was one of the teams being talked about as possible destination for José Mourinho if he ended up leaving Real Madrid. At least it was until now. Apparently the club's chiefs have ruled out making a move for the Portuguese player because of his aggressive public style, according to the British press.
This revelation makes even more sense taking into account that the Manchester club includes amongst its top executives two ex-Barcelona men: Ferrán Soriano, executive director, and Txiqui Begiristain, sporting director. This latter was close to signing Jose Mourinho for the Catalan giants back in 2008, before finally opting for Josep Guardiola as Frank Rijkaard's substitute.
It seems that the opinion at Manchester City regarding the Portuguese coach has changed substantially. According to the newspaper 'The Daily Mirror' Mou wouldn't be amongst the candidates to replace Roberto Mancini, if he were to be removed. The Italian has seen his reputation eroded in recent weeks, and it is being said that only winning the Premiership will be sufficient for him to save his job after City's dismal showing in the Champions League, the worst ever by an English club.
