After the magnificent atmosphere generated by thousands of fans of Sevilla and Real Betis in their respective stadiums ahead of the Seville derby on Sunday night, fighting broke out between the two team's Ultras, threatening to disturb the peace.
The incidents took place near the Parque de María Luisia and Avenida de la Borbolla, but according to witnesses a swift intervention from the police prevented the violence from escalating.
According to newspaper 'ABC de Sevilla', a number of policemen were hurt in the incidents with several needing medical attention, while around 30 people were arrested.
