Real Madrid will be without Cristiano Ronaldo for their trip to Osasuna tonight, as the Portuguese is suspended for accumulating five yellow cards this season.

Madrid have won 65.2% of the matches they have played without Ronaldo (15 of the 23), compared to 75% with him in the side (129 of 172 games).

Madrid score fewer goals when Ronaldo is missing, too, netting an average of 2.2 goals per game when he is not playing, compared to 2.7 when he is. They are also easier to beat: they have lost 26.1% of the games he has missed (six of the 23), compared to 11% of games he has played, 19 out of 172.

The last time Cristiano missed a game for Madrid was the second leg of their Copa del Rey tie with Alcoyano, for which they were already 4-1 up from the first leg (a game he also missed, this time due to injury). Of the further 21 games Cristiano has been absent from, he has missed 13 due to injury, three for suspensions, one due to the flu, three due to his coach handing him a rest, and was once left out of the side as a punishment by José Mourinho.

That was on 30 April 2011, Madrid's 2-3 defeat to Real Zaragoza, three days after he criticised Mourinho's formation in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, when Cristiano was forced to play as a centre-forward. It was the last time he had missed a league game until today, and since then has played 60 games, of which Madrid won 47, drew seven and lost six.
