Roberto Soldado will play no part in the second leg of Valencia's Copa del Rey quarter final tie with Real Madrid at the Mestalla on Wednesday.
The forward underwent medical test on Monday following Valencia's 0-5 defeat to Madrid on Sunday, when Soldado was substituted after 65 minutes.
It was thought at first that coach Ernesto Valverde brought Soldado off in order to rest him for the cup tie, but it was later revealed that he was injured.
But the club have announced that he is experiencing pain in his right quadriceps, which will prevent him from facing Madrid.
