Atlético Madrid's keeper Courtois' recent performances have not just left the club's fans thrilled but also launched a new meme on the internet: Thibauting. Fans have been posting photos imitating the Belgian's classic mid-air pose, arms outstretched as he clutches the ball. The photos have been taken in a variety of places and in general the rule seems to be, the wackier the better. Some of the photos can be seen here http://thibauting.tumblr.com/
The spark that launched the craze happened in Miami, in the US, where Martin Rosenow came up with the idea, having seen Courtois making save after save. From there Atleti's fans from around the world followed suit and so a phenomenon was born.
