Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova announced his squad list for Saturday's league meeting with Real Sociedad this afternoon. The coach has called all of his available players for the match but there was no place in the squad sheet for David Villa, who remains in the casualty room and Jonathan dos Santos, who is omitted for tactical reasons.
In total, 20 players will make the trip to San Sebastián where Barcelona have struggled in recent fixtures, having lost at Anoeta on La Real's return to the top flight in 2010/11 and drawn the most recent encounter with the 'Txuri Urdin' last term.
Víctor Valdés has been included in Vilanova's list and the goalkeeper is bound to be in the media spotlight following his announcement that he will not be renewing his contract with the Catalans.
Villa meanwhile has yet to overcome problems to his right thigh muscle and won't be making the trip, nor will Marc Muniesa, Isaac Cuenca or Éric Abidal - the latter two failing to make the list despite training as normal on Friday. Villa, Alex Song and Muniesa spent the morning session working out inside the gym.
The full squad list reads: Valdés, Pinto, Alves, Adriano, Montoya, Piqué, Puyol, Alba, Mascherano, Bartra, Song, Xavi, Cesc, Busquets, Thiago, Iniesta, Tello, Pedro, Alexis and Messi.
