Xavi Hernández has taken a swipe at José Mourinho's style of football, saying that the Portuguese coach would not do well were he to ever get the top job at the Camp Nou.

Speaking on 'Catalunya Radio', the Barcelona and Spain midfielder said:

"Mourinhho would not fit in at Barcelona. I personally like him because he spent three years here, but the type of football his teams play is not what we would want. His football is too speculative, and his teams are always waiting to see what the opposition do first, and so I don't think he will go down in the history of football as a great manager."

On the contrary, Xavi praised new Barça coach Tito Vilanova for "keeping the values of Barcelona intact".

Xavi also said he enjoyed the gesture by the club before the game against Real Madrid last Sunday, when fans at the Camp Nou unveiled a mosaic of a giant Catalan flag, the 'senyera', just before kick off.

"I really liked going out onto the pitch and seeing the 'senyera'. People have the right to freedom of expression and we are on the side of the Catalans."
